SOLUTIONS-WISP

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]An Internet service provider utilizing a wireless networking infrastructure focuses on last-mile data delivery, which can often present significant challenges due to the need for individual cable connections to each subscriber. By delivering Internet services through RF communications from central transmitters, the provider ensures consistency and reliability in service. It is essential to offer wide coverage to accommodate a large number of users while maintaining affordability and cost-effectiveness without compromising the quality of service.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1729148648297{background-color: #203864 !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1732010557329{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;}”]

Applications/Requirements

• Internet Access for Rural Area

  • Wi-Fi facilitates internet access for users in rural area/community, providing a lot of convenience in:
    • Affordable Internet Access
    • Improving the possibility of developing e-commerce
    • Improving the education, healthcare, job opportunities, and other critical services

• Monetization

  • Establish the free Wi-Fi to targeted customers through captive portal registration where the WISP can promote their own services, create awareness and get advertisement revenue.
  • Establish the affordable Wi-Fi service to target customers through prepaid card/postpaid subscription where the WISP can build up the business quickly.

• Smart City

  • Allow existing ISP users at home or office to enjoy Wi-Fi service in the city areas.
  • Providing the wireless access in the public areas such as parks, scenic spots, marketing and squares.
  • Connecting the facilities such as cameras, traffic lights, advertising board and so on.

Challenges in Wi-Fi Implementation

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”black”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1732068890686{padding-top: 10px !important;}”]

• Limited sites for Wi-Fi installation

  • For rural area, it is expensive to built up tower/pole for Wi-Fi installation.
  • For city area, it is expensive and difficult to built up a new site for Wi-Fi installation.

• Much wireless interference

  • Interferences come from the AP of office buildings nearby and the other WISP, leads to poor signal reception and low transmission data throughput, causing a lot of delay.

• System Integration

  • Due to various of authentication methods required for WISP applications, integration with third-party captive portal and authentication server causes additional deployment time and development effort.

• Large area coverage

  • 1 x A8-Ein(ac) can provide coverage for a distance of 1.7 km in LOS environment
  • 1 x A8n(ac) can provide large area coverage with beamwidth 70 to 360º

• Smart Antenna

  • 8×8 MIMO array: Take advantage of multi-path signals to achieve high diversity gain in NLOS environment.
  • Patented smart antenna algorithm: Analyze all the Rx signal paths to achieve a higher uplink signal level, hence improving uplink performance for those low-powered devices.

• Interference Immunity

  • Automatic channel selection selects the channel with the least interference
  • The focused antenna beam attenuates interference coming from all other directions

• AlwaysConnected

  • The AlwaysConnected Solution allows a mobile unit to have multiple wireless connections to different APs concurrently
  • With fast loop avoidance and advanced dynamic link selection algorithm, multiple wireless links will always be available, and data will be flowing through the optimal link
  • As there is no roaming involved, the handover time is < 10 ms

• Cellular Co-Location for A8n(ac) series

  • Extremely low spurious emissions ≤ 90 dBm design
  • As close as 50 cm co-locate with TD-SCDMA antenna
  • No gradation to either cellular and Wi-Fi equipment

• Built-in Captive Portal and Radius Server

  • AltaiCare/AltaiGate provides built-in customized captive portal service and radius server, helping the WISP to create their own captive portal page with various of login methods quickly and effectively.
