Differentiated Technology
Intelligent long-range wireless performance beyond conventional Wi-Fi
Altai’s differentiating technology is designed to deliver broader coverage, stronger resilience, and more intelligent wireless performance in demanding environments. Built for industrial, outdoor, and large-area deployments, it supports wireless coverage of up to 1.7 km in line-of-sight environments and up to 500 m in non-line-of-sight conditions.
This advantage is enabled by a combination of Altai’s core technologies, including Smart Antenna Technology, Multi-Radio Resilience, Smart Roaming, and Intelligent AP Steering.
Why it matters
Traditional Wi-Fi approaches often struggle in environments where signal conditions are dynamic, interference is persistent, and devices are continuously moving. As network density increases and wireless becomes more critical to operations, performance depends not only on RF power, but on how intelligently the network responds to real-world conditions.
Altai addresses these operational challenges through an integrated wireless architecture designed to support:
- Extended wireless coverage
- Improved uplink performance in challenging environments
- Resilience under localized interference
- Seamless mobility across access points
- Smarter coordination across multiple APs
The result is a wireless platform engineered for coverage, continuity, and control.
Four key technology pillars
Smart Antenna Technology
Altai’s 8×8 MIMO Smart Antenna Technology is designed to improve uplink performance and link stability by taking advantage of multipath signals in non-line-of-sight environments.
With a unique 8×8 antenna array and a patented smart antenna algorithm, the system analyzes received signal paths and dynamically selects the optimal path between the AP and the client. This helps improve uplink signal level and maintain stable wireless connectivity, especially for low-powered devices.
Key capabilities:
- 8×8 antenna array design
- Multipath signal utilization for diversity gain
- Patented signal path analysis and optimization
- Improved uplink performance in challenging and fluctuating environments
Multi‑Radio Resilience
Altai’s Multi‑Radio Architecture is designed with independent operation across sectors, enabling better interference mitigation than conventional single-sector AP designs.
If one sector experiences jamming or interference, the other sectors remain available to continue providing service. This allows the AP to maintain operation even when part of the RF environment is affected.
Key capabilities:
- Independent operation across multiple radios/sectors
- Better tolerance to adjacent-site interference
- Continued service when one sector is affected
- More resilient coverage than single-sector omni architectures
Smart Roaming
Altai Smart Roaming is designed for mobile devices that require fast, reliable transition between APs. This is especially important in environments where robots, AGVs, and AMRs move continuously and depend on stable wireless connectivity for critical operations.
Built on 802.11k/v/r, Smart Roaming enables the client and APs to coordinate the handover process through proactive monitoring, active background scanning, roaming facilitation, and AP-to-AP information exchange.
Key capabilities:
- Handover time of 80–100 ms
- Support for 802.11k/v/r
- Proactive target AP selection before connection deterioration
- Intelligent packet buffering and forwarding for zero packet loss
Intelligent AP Steering
Altai Intelligent AP Steering, as part of its Wi‑Fi SON (Self‑Organizing Network) approach, helps direct clients toward the best available AP by monitoring real-time network conditions.
By sharing information on AP radio utilization and link quality between AP and client, neighboring APs can provide steering suggestions that help reduce sticky-client behavior and distribute load more efficiently across the network.
Key capabilities:
- Real-time monitoring of link quality and AP utilization
- Smarter client distribution across neighboring APs
- Improved radio resource utilization
- Better load balancing in dense environments
Designed for complex and demanding environments
Altai’s technology is built for environments where wireless performance must remain stable across long distances, interference-prone areas, mobile operations, and dense client populations.
Relevant deployment environments include:

Across these environments, the objective remains the same: to deliver broader coverage, stronger connectivity, and more intelligent network performance.
Extend coverage. Improve resilience. Optimize connectivity.
