In today’s interconnected world, reliable and high-speed internet access has become a crucial necessity for everyone. However, many remote and rural regions continue to face challenges in obtaining access to broadband services. Traditional terrestrial internet infrastructure is often prohibitively expensive to deploy in these areas, leaving residents and businesses with limited or no connectivity options.

To bridge the digital divide and provide equitable internet access to underserved populations in remote and rural areas of Malaysia, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has embarked on an innovative project to deploy Starlink satellite broadband services with extended Wi-Fi coverage. This pioneering initiative leverages Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology and Altai’s C260-S wireless broadband solution to deliver high-speed, low-latency connectivity to communities across different states in Malaysia.
